A lamp made of ash wood with pine wood elements and hemp rope. Typical for the late medieval period and later centuries. This item was impregnated in vegetable oil.

This model is handmade with the use of natural materials. It will work fine as both a standing or hanging lamp. One can use it in an apartment, a chamber, or in historica camp.

Walls of this medieval lantern are made from thin parchment of buckskin (roe deer leather). It does not have a door; instead there is a special handle for a lift device. The platform has a metal spike for mounting a candle.



Measurements of the lamp:
- height: ~ 25 cm
- girth: ~ 14 cm

The platform can hold up a candle up to 4 cm diameter.

NOTE - each lantern is handmade. Colors can slightly differ.

Similar wooden lanterns can be found in various sources, like for example the so-called Book of Hours from 1480-1500. On the margins of this French manuscript you can find fantastic creatures holding similar items.
