A one pole pavilion with a diameter of 5m is the third option of this type, between phi 4m and 6m. Like its prototypes, phi 5m is made of impregnated cotton with a weight of 340g/m2.
The construction of this tent, typical of the Middle Ages, is based on guy ropes. It is about 4.2 m high and consists of a two-part wall and roof. It is therefore easy to fold and transport. Thanks to its construction, this pavilion can be opened from two sides. The weight of the tent together with the pegs is about 70 kg.
Set contains:
• three-piece tent sheet (roof + 2 walls)
• mast with a height of 420 cm and phi 80 mm (consisting of two parts)
• a set of metal parts to join the two parts of the mast
• wooden mast ball
• wooden beam for flag
• 48 pins for fixing guy ropes and walls
• 3 anti-hurricane ropes, each 7.5 m long with loops at the ends
• 53 tent pegs
• 2 bags for tent
• pegs bag
• 24 guy ropes, each 1.7 m long
• 24 guy ropes, each 4.5 m long NOTE - The hand-made sewing standard is currently unavailable.
From Middle Ages to Renaissance
Pavilion with one pole is a type of tent which is the most popular in former iconography. You can find it in the sources from the 13th century, as well as from the 17th century, which makes it appropriate for both medieval and Renaissance events.
There are especially a lot of examples with decorative tapes, unique merlons or painted decorations. Examples of this shelter can be found on the pages of Maciejowski Bible (1250) in the form of white one-mast tents. On the other hand, colored examples are visible in the so-called Alexander Romance (1338-1410), stored in the Bodleian Libraries.
NOTE! There's an option of changing the polypropylene rope for hemp rope with no charge. Polypropylene ropes are more durable and they stretch and twist less easily.
Under the influence of bad weather conditions (heavy rain for example), wet leather elements may taint the Renaissance tent's fabric.
The leather used for strengthening fabric in places where there are pegs, entry, and guy ropes is in black color.
Due to the fact that our tents are sewn from 100%-natural fabrics, they are meant to be used occasionally. By “occasional use” we mean using the tent in a row of maximum 5 days, a couple times a season/a year, with drying the tent’s canvas after each usage. Despite anti-mold and anti-rain impregnation, when you use the tent for a prolonged time, mold spots might start to appear and the fabric might lose its anti-rain properties – especially in humid weather conditions (long and heavy rains, the lack of sun, high air humidity etc.). Therefore, the deterioration of the tent's condition due to prolonged usage cannot be treated as a ground for complaints. However, if you are interested in such usage of our tents, please contact us and we will offer you an alternative to our standard tent fabrics (e.g. a mixture of natural fabric with polyester, with higher endurance against dampness and mold).
