The technique of preparing printed linen was described at the turn of XIV and XV century in Cennino Cennini's book 'About painting'. There are several findings of pieces of printed linen all over the Europe.
Our pattern is a copy of pattern from the pourpoint of Chales de Blois (~1364). The print is made with black ink on silk fabric. Each side of the pattern (square with 4 animals) is 7 cm. Prices below are prices for 1 meter of fabric (ca. 135cm width).
