Our medieval kerchief type 3 is a type of half-oval historical headwear. We make these medieval headscarves from linen in white or natural color. On customer's request, we can make a historical headwear in other color, or from other fabric (cotton or silk).
Our medieval kerchief has dimensions of 93 x 69 cm.
Such medieval headscarf was a basic historical headwear for women. Still, other type of headgear could be put on it (a hood, or a straw hat).
An example of medieval kerchief of this type, and ways of tying it, can be found on a portrait by Robert Campin, titled “A Woman”.
There are a few ways of mounting this medieval kerchief on head. The most popular is tying it under a fillet band. Next, attaching a medieval headscarf with pins.
Second popular way is using an additional medieval kerchief under chin, and fixing both of them together.
There are two ways of finishing this historical headwear: by machine sewing or hand sewing.
