This model of Römer glass (also known as "Roemer") is made from olive green glass, dedicated to containing various drinks, like wine. It has an oblong head and cylindrical stem with decorative glass lumps, and round foot.

This glass was commonly used in the area of Netherlands from the end of the 15th century up to the 19th century. First mentions about roemsche glassere come from the second part of the 15th century, from the German area (this model is also available in our shop here).

The source of our Römer goblet can be the vessel found in Elbl±g, made from a glass colored on dark or light green. Up to now those glasses are stored in the local Museum of Archeology and History.
