The meaning and origin of lunula

This medieval necklace tag is a depiction of the crescent moon which symbolizes female power, but also a completeness, use of full potential and fertility. As an amulet, it supports the sense of femininity.

Medieval necklace tag inspired by historical findings

There are a lot of historical examples of lunula, especially coming from the Viking era and early medieval period. Our tag is based on the finding from the State Archeological Museum, Warsaw, which dates back to the 12th-13th century. Bronze lunula is attached to a beady necklace from multicolor glass. Our lunula has the same shape, finishing and decorations like the historical example.
